About Us
Purpose
To promote a competitive National Security and Intelligence education at Fairmont State University as well as a sustainable community for its graduates.
Core Activities
Background
The need for capable and competent professionals to defend the homeland continues to increase as threats to the United States—both foreign and domestic—persist and evolve. To combat the dynamic nature of the threat to US National Security, Fairmont State University’s (FSU) National Security and Intelligence (NSI) program has supplied talented professionals to Intelligence Community, law enforcement, military, legal, and private sector positions since 2007. To protect this vital program, its professors, and opportunities, the alumni of the program must actively offer a sustained, positive influence on the NSI program at FSU, as well as form a network to promote opportunities in the national security field after graduation.

About Our Seal
The seal of the National Security and Intelligence Alumni Association of Fairmont was adopted shortly after the organization's creation in 2020. Designed by local artist and adjunct faculty member of Fairmont State University, Marianne Jenkins, the NSIAA seal symbolizes the values that inform the association's purpose.
Centered, is a falcon - Fairmont State University's mascot - symbolizing those serviceable for high affairs and a shield to represent defense and the role of intelligence in defending the nation.
The falcon holds in two objects, one in each talon. In her dexter talon, the falcon holds a white-blossomed rhododendron maximum (also known as a Great Laurel), the state flower of West Virginia, symbolizing our connection the state. School children chose it as the West Virginia state flower in 1903. Additionally, the rhododendron symbolizes an interest to provide assistance in floral symbolism.
In her sinister talon, the falcon holds a penner and inkhorn, heraldic symbols for educated professions, symbolizing our pursuit of national security as educated professionals.
Her head is turned towards the rhododendron, symbolizing our dedication to the National Security and Intelligence Program, as well as our dedication to providing it the necessary resources to be a competitive program.
The seal serves as the association's formal logo.
